I enjoyed this event such a lot. I must have done 20 readings in 3 hours with nothing to sustain me but some very fancy Teqilla. Still, great to meet everyone and a wonderful networking opportunity. Thanks for having me!
So enjoying coming here every week. Above is my warm-up spread, breaking out the Mary-El deck from a period of hibernation.
Right now there is an exhibition of these incredible wreaths, some full-power silver jewelry and gourd lamps. Everything hand-made, hand grown, and in the picture above: macrobiotic stollen.
Star Tarot in good company at Asaba.
I do like this quote from Creating On Purpose from Anodea Judith and Lion Goodman, because I am big into the whole responsibility thing, and I could add that now we have online petitions, thanks to the likes of AVAAZ, we are all in the democratic system, so no more excuses. Look at what happened in Brazil.
The book is great, I am particularly enjoying the “ripping out the old beliefs by the roots” exercises and visualising a whole new wardrobe. Fashion, gardening and self-help! My kind of book!
Queen Elizabeth I painted by Steven van der Meulen in 1563
“Since our culture tends to over-emphasize the Yang qualities of life – that’s the over-busyness that says go-go go in order to accomplish anything – we often feel tired and burnt-out with little to show for it at the end of the day. To balance that tendency out, learn to activate the energy of the Empress in your daily life. Notice how she feels as she reposes there. Is she running around ragged all stressed out? No. She is in the receptive state – she is fertile by her nature. Her state of mind generates harmony with her surroundings, hence abundance is hers. She is ruled by Venus, the planet of love, creativity, fertility, art, harmony, luxury, beauty and grace. When you can be ‘the Empress’, you will have these qualities in your life.”

I have been so enjoying Kim Wilborn’s Gardian Gateway talks, which she so generously offers for free for 48 hours each. Particularly interesting were Kim’s opening talk and then Ferol Humphrey explaining how she connects to guardian angels. This is so inspiring.
Click the image above to connect, but make it quick as they all are available to listen to for a very short time only.
It’s raining, I have my feet under the KOTATSU, and I’m just starting a new knit. A perfect day to be listening to Tagore on LibriVox.
I’ve shared this on Facebook before but I’ll put it here again now, HERE is the link to the Oprah site article on developing intuition. Very useful, very helpful.
Thank you for the shielding Middle Pillar exercise, Ted. I love it.
I have a scan of the pages in question from Ted’s Andrews’ book “Learn to See and Read the Aura”. The book in itself is well worth the small amount of money it costs, esp. If you buy it second hand, and it’s full of great exercises for, among other things, taking care of your aura. But if you want a copy if the scan let me know. Use the form on the About page.
Why shield? Because it feels good.
Since writing this post and since starting regular daily shielding using the Middle Pillar exercise – well, it’s more of a chant and visualisation, really – not only have I been really enjoying it, as there is a sense of total wellness and peace that is frankly beautiful, but my life has been going very smoothly. Whereas before I was constantly in crisis mode, it was always “The Wrong Time For This!” for the last two weeks everything has been very smooth and peaceful. I feel less ragged constantly. People don’t harass me with just “one more thing, Elise, could you just…?” and the silly crap of life doesn’t seem to cling, or even hit. In brief: Middle Pillar exercise is my practice. Can I get a tee-shirt printed? Or a hat?

The Magician from the Visconti-Sforza deck. Why do you think there is a tiny hole at the top of the card?
